Detail  [In Duke St., Grosvenor Square. Son of H.S. Blanckley, Consul General at Algiers. Entered the royal navy in 1805. Lieut. 1815, appointed to the Alligator 28, Capt. Thomas Alexander, fitting out for the East India station, May 16, 1822 and promoted to the command of the Sophia sloop at Rangoon, end of April 1825. This was confirmed 10 Dec., ""previous to which the Sophia had been sold in India"
