Entry  At Kingstown, near Dublin, Robert Xavier Murphy, Esq., late Chief Interpreter and Translator, H.M. Supreme Court at Bombay, aged 51 years, of bronchitis. Leaving a wife and three children to bemoan their irreparable loss. A sincere Christian, he was in all the relations of life, as parent, brother, friend, exemplary and beloved. A classical writer, well versed in most of the languages of Europe, and a distinguished Orientalist, he combined with intellectual attainments of a high order, a gentleness of spirit which secured the affectionate regards of all who knew him.
