Consular Agent to H.M.F.M., the Queen of Portugal, and Uncovenanted Assistant, Collector of Customs in Bombay, aged 31 years 3 months 10 days. Having lately entered the Public service here, he, within three years, discharged the different duties of the Office entrusted to his care, with fidelity and impartiality, so as to gain the confidence and good will of his Superiors, and at the same time, the respect and esteem, and even frequently the friendship of the persons, who had occasion to have official transactions with him. His private character was not less worthy of being appreciated. He has left a large circle of relatives, amongst whom may be enumerated his venerable father and seven sisters, to bemoan his irreparable loss.
