Mr Shelverton was employed upon the Beder Longitudinal Series, extending from the East of Hyderabad to the Madras Coast. 3. He had suffered during the previous field season and probably had not fully recovered before he took the field again this season. 4. Mr Shelverton was a most deserving Officer, and his services have been, from time to time, very favorably reported on by the Head of this Department. 5. He was a most devoted servant of the Government, and the Deaprtment has suffered a great loss by his death. 6. A report as to the above is forwarded in the form directed by Home Office endorsement No 150, dated 10th January 1871. |
