Detail  [Pages 548-550. In Upper Belgrave Street, aged 48. Eldest of the numerous family the Duke of Clarence (later William IV) had by Mrs Jordan, the comic actress. Sailed to India in Jan 1815 as aide-de-camp to the Marquess of Hastings, accompanied by his brother Henry, who soon died in India, appointed aide-de-camp to Sir Thomas Hislop. Reached home in June 1818. In 1827 published on Mahommedan mercenaries, which appeared in the Naval and Military Magazine. Active in the Royal Asiatic Society, and its president in 1841. Committed suicide after being ill]
