Entry  At Chunar, the Rev.William Bowley, who, for nearly thiry years, was one of the most active and able missionaries of the Church Missionary Society. The translations of the Bible into Hindoo was entirely his work, and most of the tracts which have been circulated in that language came also from his pen, or were revised and improved by him. He was a native of India, and was first brought forward by the late Bishop Corrie; from that time he ever maintained the highest character in public and in private.
