Comment	These are summaries of the Services of Service of Madras Civil Servants entering the Service from 1740 to 1858. Evidently, several of them continued to serve beyond this date. The data are transcribed from the book compiled by Charles Prinsep published by Truebner & Co in 1885.

	Summary of Service	1797: Writer. 1799: Assistant under the Secretary to the Board of Revenue. 1801: Assistant under the Collector of Salem. 1803: Assistant to the Collector of Coimbatore. 1805: Subordinate Collector of Coimbatore. 1808: Head Assistant to the Collector of Coimbatore. 1811: Acting Judge and Magistrate of the Zillah of Dharapooram; Judge, Magistrate, and Collector of the Zillah of Madura. Died, on his passage to England, 7th February 1815, on board the ""Europe"".
