CommentThese are summaries of the Services of Service of Madras Civil Servants entering the Service from 1740 to 1858. Evidently, several of them continued to serve beyond this date.

The data are transcribed from the book compiled by Charles Prinsep published by Truebner & Co in 1885.

Summary of Service  1834: Writer. 1837: Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Rajahmundry. 1838: Acting Head Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Cuddapah. 1839: Head Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Cuddapah. 1840: At first Acting Assistant, afterwards Head Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Rajahmundry. 1843: Acting Assistant Judge and Joint Criminal Judge, Vizagapatam; Acting Sub-Collector and Magistrate, Cuddapah. 1845: Sub-Collector and Joint Magistrate, Cuddapah; Proceeded to Europe on furlough.1849: Acting Sub-Collector and Joint-Magistrate, Madura; also Head Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, Madura. 1850: Principal Assistant to Collector and Magistrate, and Agent to the Governor of Madras, Ganjam. 1857: Collector and Magistrate, Masulipatam. 1859: Collector and Magistrate, Kistna. 1860: On medical leave for 15 months. 1861: Resigned the service, 27th December, in England. (Annuitant). Died, 27th October 1867.
