Register Entry  In Memoriam - Dec 25th (Christmas Day) 1897 at the St George's Hospital Bombay Emma Jane after a short illness. Alas! Sweet one, thou'st in thy resting place? The grave which holds thee in its cold embrace. Often do I tread near thy last abode, And turn aside from life's long weary road? To hold communion with thy sole above, And shed a tear of sorrow and of love. I weep, I sigh, but all alas! in vain, 'Twill not restore thee back to life again. But though confined within thy narrow cell, Still in my memory thou wilt ever dwell. As I recall each feature still of thee. All, all, seems but as yesterday to me. By her brother-in-law W.
