Description  In his latter days, used to ride a very vicious horse. Stalkart was �a good heavy weight, and not very active, he had to climb on to his horse with the assistance of tea boxes and his syces.� Stalkart opened three tea gardens, including Ringtong, now the Ringtong Tea Company, a first rate garden. �Hopetown still belongs to his estate, and also one near Kalimpong.� While riding to Kalimpong, Stalkart �met with a bad accident, getting a very severe fall from his horse, which injured his back and was eventually the cause of his death, for he was never in good health after.�
