Description  Was the author�s [Minden J. Wilson�s] nearest neighbour when Wilson was at Kurnoul, only some five miles off. Slade had been many years in the country. Wilson and Slade used to visit each other often.    
Indexer Notes  (1) This index entry was extracted from a description of Slade�s narrow escape; the story also involved John Howell, of Kurnoul Factory [pp. 151-152]. (2) This index entry may refer to John Slade because he was Wilson�s contemporary, though the author related a similar story for James Slade [pp. 214-215].
