Page nos.  135
Description  Saw no prospect of improving his position at Kumtoul, 1850-51; applied to James Cox, who had gone to Dhoolie Factory, for a vacant outwork under him. On receiving a reply in the affirmative, Wilson started out for Dhoolie, where he found Cox and E. Studd, and passed two or three pleasant days with them before going to his new home. During his two years at Sibnuggur, Wilson had gathered together a few extra pieces of furniture and some pictures, with which he managed to make his little bungalow quite cheerful and nice. It was a much better house than the one I had left, well-placed above the edge of a lake, with a garden to the south, in which were several good mangoe trees. I had six roomsdrawing, dining, two bed-rooms, and an officethe sixth room was appropriated by the bearer for keeping lamps, etc., in. The bearer told Wilson about the resident ghost at Dhoolie, Mr. Walters.
Indexer Notes  (1) An outwork was an outlying indigo factory, a subsidiary of a head factory or concern. (2) A bungalow is a thatched cottage of one floor, or any house standing apart on its own grounds.
