Description  Was asked by some planters to give his ideas as to why sugar proved a failure in Behar in 1845-50, and to say what he thought of �the prospects of its proving a paying industry under improved methods of cultivation and manufacture.� Wilson said that his short experience in the Mauritius was �not much help to [him] in advising on the cultivation of cane.�
