Description  Proprietor of Bunkut outwork; W. James opened the factory on MacLeod�s account, 1851. MacLeod sold 8 annas of Bunkut and Portaubpore factories to John Anderson c.1854. Mr. James getting into difficulties, MacLeod took over the place and sold 8 annas to Tom Slade. Came again to the rescue when James failed at Jogapore Factory. MacLeod, Kazee Ramzan Ali and Mr. James were the three leading men in Sarun district; �K. MacLeod financed them and between them they made the Sarun district the flourishing district it was in those days.�    
Indexer  (1) An outwork was an outlying indigo factory, a subsidiary of a head factory or �concern�. (2) An anna was a one-sixteenth part, for example, of a rupee or a parcel of land.
