Description

Gerald Wilkinson Mitchell (seated at right hand side of the photograph) taken in India.

In July 1897 he left Coopers Hill Royal Engineering College England and was appointed to the Public Works Department in India. In 1901 he is listed as being in the Public Works Department in the PUNJAB region and he was a 2nd Grade Assistant Engineer in the Irrigation Branch.

He left India early in 1901 to emigrate to Australia.
