Comment

2nd Lieutenant Jimmy Hills V.C. was the brother of Miles Macnair's great-grandmother and son of James Hills, Indigo Planter of Assam. He went on to become Lieutenant-General Sir James Hill-Johnes GCB (who added the second surname when he married Betha Jones, daughter of Judge Johnes of Dolaucothy, Carmarthenshire)
