  I have been making enquiries in the -best- quarters not -seftons- exchange and hope I may be able to effect it , the Duke of Beaufort has kindly promised to do his best for him ---- and therefore wishes that you -should- write -either- to him or me a letter stating his different -friends- of -jarrier- from the first enlistment and the principal reasons of his wishing -bye- with the 3rd Regiment His having a Brother there send --- it at ones, but as that is not the case his wish to join his friends and comrades ---d be some reason for it . I hope you write to him to get his Colonels consent, as that is important.- and it ---d -be- a ------- measure- refund on his ---t--r giving his consent or saying -- know no reason why he should not be -transfered- if his wish .
