This is simply an Index of Bonds and Covenants taken out by various individuals and partnerships with the East India Company. Under the terms of such Covenants, the former were permitted to journey to India and to work there, generally as Factors or Writers. It must be emphasized that the Documents index no longer survive. This index found its way to the John Rylands Library at the University of Manchester where it may be viewed as Eng. Mss. 159.
