Memory of
Catherine Row Ryall
The beloved wife of
Barrack Sergt. Ryall late 3/22 R.A.
who departed this life
at Lucknow 4th Augt. 1869
aged 45 years.

Daily our mortal flesh decays
But Christ our life shall come
His unresting power shall raise
Our bodies from the tomb.

In Q4 1850 Catherine Rowe married Owen Rice Ryall at St Pancras, London. In 1851 Ryall, then 19, was working as a crono lithographer and the pair lived at 24 Charrington Street, St Pancras.

He must have abandoned civilian life soon afterwards, for in 1861 he was an infantry sergeant, living with his wife and three children at Great Warley in Essex.
