1871 England census records him as 'postmaster of Hull', aged 49, living with daughter and son in law in Battersea, Surrey.
1881 census records him in Sculcoates with his family, including son Charles Samuel Walliker, aged 37, 'Indian tea planter'.
He was postmaster at Hull from 1863 to 1881, and a street was named after him - 'Walliker Street'.
His wife Louisa in fact died in 1890; her death, at the age of 73, is registered in Q4 1890 at King's Norton RD.
